In this sermon, we are in Esther 6, where we see that the pivot point for the entire book, and for the Jewish people, occurs in a seemingly insignificant event--the king's sleepless night. God sovereignly kept the king from sleep in order to set in motion events which would turn mourning into rejoicing, defeat into victory, and death into life. God sovereignly works to reverse the fortunes of His people, and this is seen most powerfully in the cross of Christ.
