This is the livestream of our Sunday morning worship service from 5/24/2026. In this sermon, we are in Esther 8, where we see Esther once again plead for the lives of her people. Haman, the enemy of the Jews, has been executed. But the decree of death has already gone out to all the peoples, in all the provinces, of the empire. King Ahasuerus gives Esther and Mordecai permission to write a new edict, a counter-decree, which will allow the Jews to defend themselves against all attackers. This leads to much rejoicing and feasting. We, too, can rejoice that our gracious God has declared a counter-decree to the death we deserve for our sin. In Christ, the counter-decree of grace and forgiveness can be ours.
