(John 2:1-11) The First Sign: Responding to Jesus, the Bringer of the New Age
This is the livestream of our Sunday morning worship service from 8/23/2026. In this sermon, we are in John 2:1-11, where the Lord Jesus performs His first sign. At a wedding in Cana of Galilee, the Lord Jesus comes to the rescue of a groom’s family, who have run out of wine before the feast has concluded. He turns a massive amount of water into wine of the very best quality. The sign of the water-turned-to-wine has great theological significance beyond the literal miracle itself. The Lord Jesus has transformed the old order into the new; He has inaugurated the new messianic age and the kingdom of God, through the new covenant, a time of great joy and abundant blessing, which will be consummated at His return. In all this, He manifests His glory and leads His people to faith.
